Joining Fair to Nature is a simple and straightforward way to gain recognition and support for your nature friendly farming and we will help you every step of the way.

There are two levels of Fair to Nature farmer membership – full and foundation level. The criteria of both and the benefits of becoming a member are described below:

Foundation Membership

Foundation members commit to meeting the Fair to Nature Standard but will not be supplying produce badged as Fair to Nature to certified brands. Foundation members have five years to meet the Standard.

As a foundation member, you will receive assistance with completing your Fair to Nature Farm Plan , a biennial habitat assessment and advice visit from an approved Fair to Nature farm conservation adviser.

In order to sell your own produce as Fair to Nature or be eligible for Fair to Nature contracts (and any associated financial premium), Fair to Nature foundation members must become full members.

Full Membership

Full membership is for farms that are supplying produce badged as Fair to Nature to certified brands, including products sold under the farm’s own brand(s). Full members are expected to either be already meeting the requirements of the Fair to Nature Standard or commit to meeting the Standard within two years.

As a full member, you will receive assistance with completing your Fair to Nature Farm Plan, a biennial habitat assessment and advice visit from an approved Fair to Nature adviser and an external audit of verification in the intervening years.

The benefits of Fair to Nature Membership:

  • Recognition and certification of the farm as Fair to Nature
  • Access to Fair to Nature contracts as and when they become available
  • Potential for a Fair to Nature premium over market prices
  • Invitations to Fair to Nature Regional Technical Updates
  • On farm advice alongside practical guidance and training to boost environmental performance
  • Knowledge transfer and support with other Fair to Nature members
  • Potential to reduce overhead costs
  • Works alongside agri-environmental schemes
